Leo entered the care of ARK in July 2024. Leo got along with all the other dogs at the kennel, loved playing and loved the water, hoping and waiting one day for someone to come along and realize what a great dog he is! In January 2026, it happened!!! Leo found his home at an ARK adoption event, where he got to meet his new sibling. It was instant love! We have received pictures of Leo from his new family and videos showing how happy he is in his new home!!! This is what we strive for, great happy stories for our lovable adoptables!
Bhakti means “Devoted worship” and she is now loved and worshiped by her new family! Bhakti was a stray cat who bonded to a lady who had her fixed and was feeding her and occasionally letting her inside. However, the lady’s spouse was allergic. She was surrendered to ARK in July 2025 and joined the other cats in the cattery. After six long months, she was adopted as a two- year- old cat along with one of her friends in the cattery and has become a loving part of a furever family! She is now living her best life!
Faith was part of a bad situation, came to ARK as an abused overbred pup who was also heartworm positive. She was used it appears as a dog for only having puppies. She was in bad shape, pregnant and with no hope left in her. Her teeth were even filed down so she could not even defend herself! She was part of a large group of dogs that came to ARK that we lovingly named ‘the alphabet dogs” named all starting with letter A to letter H, a total of seven. The loving team at ARK got her, her puppies when she had them and all of her friends treated, vaccinated, spay/neutered. Faith was adopted by one of the ARK staff after falling in love with her. She is the sweetest, most loving dog and the best companion ever says her new mama!
Nate came to ARK in November 2023 in very bad condition and distrustful of humans. With the loving staff at ARK and with patience and time, he became a great boy. Each day he waited for just the right person to come and find him. Finally, after 805 days, he was adopted into a loving family! Nate, who didn’t care too much for men, ran right up to his new daddy and picked him out! Both Nate and his new daddy were overjoyed! It was a story the staff could not believe! We thought that would take time but nope! Instant love! Nate found his humans!
Nickel came to ARK with a sister dog, Dime. Nickel was always a joy, such a sweet boy, eager to please, patiently waiting for his forever person. He never met someone he didn’t like. One day, in February 2026, his luck changed! He found his true human buddy for life! He was at ARK for 986 days before he was adopted!! So many days…. and he has finally found his forever family, even has a new furry friend!!
He now lives in a house with a bed to sleep in, has a yard to play in, and will be traveling up north with his new owner, right by his side!
Dime, a long timer at ARK was also adopted in April 2026., after waiting 1,054 days, our sweet Dime found her furever home! A wonderful family who bonded immediately. She has a home in Florida plus up north. We will always remember Dime chasing her tennis balls and wagging her tail with a big smile. Happy tears were shed, but so glad both finally in a home that they both deserves!!!
Parker was found by a gentleman on Hwy 17 in front of ARK about to be hit by traffic! He was nice enough to stop and catch him and brought him in! Parker was only 5 weeks old and even after just being dumped by our facility, he was such a happy kitten, always purring and wanting attention. He was only with us for a month when someone fell in love with him and adopted him! He now gets to grow up in a loving home, as he deserves!
My name is Lady Grace, I was left behind by my family. I lived under a house for months on my own. A neighbor noticed me and started setting food out for me. He was so patient, as I was very wary of people. After a little over a month, I finally let him near me. That’s when he noticed that I probably had babies somewhere. I finally gave in and allowed him to see my 2 pups (which they put food out for all of us). I was very malnourished; I didn’t use my back left leg. That’s when he called ARK Animal Rescue to help. ARK came and took me and my boys to see a vet.
We found out that I had 2 fractures in my pelvis and a dislocated leg. I was taken to ARK headquarters where I received extra nutrition so I could build my body up for surgery. My boys were adopted to a great home. Dr. Smith fixed my leg and pelvis, after which I had rehab and started using my leg. Boy did I flourish after that. I could run around the big yard, doing “zoomies” and jump over things. I loved all the people I would see daily but still I was very untrusting of new people.
Finally, the right family came along, they didn’t mind that I was stand-offish, because their dog and I got along great. They have been very patient with me allowing me to come to them and not pushing themselves on me. Now my favorite place to lay is on top of my new dad.
I was just a regular stray dog, nobody knows how long I was on my own, or what hardships I went through but me. I found my way to ARK, I was taken to a vet multiple times for various reasons (i.e.; skin issues, swollen toe). I spent almost a year there, before my perfect family came along. Now I get to spend my days chilling on the couch, playing outside, and snuggling the best dad ever.
